FEYA ROSE
INDIE AUTHOR
I decided that I wanted to be an author at age seven, crafting fantasy worlds on the back of index cards with my childhood friend, and I delved into writing lyrical free-verse poetry and short stories for publication during high school.
I studied at St. Michaels University School, then continued at the University of Victoria to explore courses in creative writing, journalism, marketing, theatre, child and youth care, psychology, and philosophy.
When I was forced into an indefinite medical hiatus — literally fighting for my life — I thought I would never get to share the worlds in my head with the people I love. I never stopped dreaming, though. Instead, I shifted my focus to studying the writing craft online through courses like Jessica Brody’s Save the Cat!, while rebuilding my mindset with coaching videos and self-development workbooks.
Since starting recovery, I’ve returned to school, studying Creative Writing at Camosun College. Alongside my sisters in the Quill & Cup writing community, I am pursuing my literary dreams with the goal of publishing my debut fantasy novel in 2026.
My work is inspired by my love of nature, wanderlust filled adventures across the continent, and deep dives into folk lore and traditional fairy tales. Add in my overactive imagination and magical dreams that sometimes haunt me, the heart of my work is fueled in equal measure by the whimsy of the light and the whispers in the dark.
Through it all, I’ve never stopped dreaming of visiting faraway realms, pursuing magical adventures, and — just maybe — meeting a handsome, fated love of my own.
When not writing,
I can be found:
Caring for my fur babies,
sipping herbal teas,
and fiercely defending the
Oxford comma.
